In other news, i found a PS2 emulator and managed to get it running decently so that i could play FFX once more time =)

Gosh it’s two weeks for which i’ve been working in the labs already. In a way it’s not bad, having a fixed routine to work with each day, but i have yet to get used to the humdrum and way of working life – it can get tiring at times if you don’t watch [...]
The annoying thing about running friction wear tests isn’t the waiting time but the preparation of everything, from the cleaning of the silicon contact ball to the alignment to the placing of the sample onto the holder and making sure it’s secure. I’ve taken to logging most of my stuff here already – so i figure i might as well make it a full blown log of activities, by week and day.
Today’s rather simple, only a friction wear test on Sample01 of Si+heated+UHMWPE at 1mm/5g/500rpm/CCW, and some journal searching.

It turns out that a lot of the coatings that we did yesterday didn’t turn out well, and so we had to throw them away and eventually will get back to redoing them. The postgrad student i’m working with is so enthusiastic that he’d come back aon weekends and do his samples and tests on [...]
